Yes! Finally bringing back the retail after a break of four years. It’s been that long!
This time, it won’t be niche niche market. Will be catering to the masses as well.
I’m so excited. Additional income and fun!
Brand new concept, brand new designs, brand new goods and most importantly, my own brand.
There’s gonna be a huge variety of stuff available for sale at rock bottom prices.

About nothing and yet everything.
I hope I’ll be able to get my iPhone 4 and iPad latest latest by next month. =D
Some people are really irritating and I finally figured out why we call these people lowlife. Pests that crawl at the lowest level are the ones who usually survive longest. A good example are the cockroaches. They are considered rather primitive and I ever read somewhere (not sure if it is accurate though) that given to the day the world ends…cockroaches would still be alive! Ohmygawd! So yes, some people are like cockroaches. And I usually smack these to a sticky death.
A man who has no pride is worse than the poorest beggar and yet he still thinks himself top of the world. That is the irony of man. Generally, the average Singaporean man is useless. And my observation is that it is the economic pressure here which has made them so. The average man expect the wife to share in half of the financial burden (if not more), hold a good job and take care of the household. Yet at the same time, the so-called ‘traditional values’ still holds; kids take after the father’s surname, women are a ’subset’ of men kinda mentality. So to all men who are reading this: DO NOT EVER GET MARRIED IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE FOR YOUR FAMILY. Unless you are OK with your kids taking after your wife’s surname. *smirkz” And then to make matters worse…if these average men marry a foreign woman (e.g. from Cambodia, Vietnam or China) they do not expect these women to work but to stay at home and at this junction…these average men would willingly hold two or even three jobs just to make ends meet or pander to the whims and fancies of these women. Men are just weird. They really do think by their balls. So no wonder why the economic pressure is such too.
The World Cup 2010 so far has been hilarious. All the supposedly good teams have really ‘outperformed’ themselves by making the most impossible mistakes possible and all the supposedly lousy teams have really ‘outperformed’ themselves by scoring the most impossible goals possible. Whatever is the world coming to? I guess, the betting centers must be laughing all the way to the banks.
I wish, I could write as much as I can debate. For that dreaded paper.
You know, I hate politics the most. I really can be alone. I don’t care much for unpleasant company. So just leave me alone. An insincere call is a million times worse than not calling at all. So no thanks for the fake concerns.
Partner has been very busy lately. Actually I’m very busy too. Everyone is busy. So far away. Wondering how cold it’d be.

Bosses have been encouraged to allow staff leave and flexible hours so that everyone could enjoy the World Cup event. To the extent of rescheduling “not-so-important” meetings. Sigh! Sports sponsorship is still the most profitable legit business.
That reminds me of my almost foray into that industry 8 years back. They deemed me too young after flying all the way down to Asia from Europe to interview me…without asking for my age in the application. And it was the HR in Europe who discovered the discrepancy and called to terminate the second interview. Most esteemed and most ridiculous interview ever in my life so far.
Terrible sleepless nights for the sport fans and gamblers alike.
Sleepless nights for myself as well cos of the rush in trying to complete that paper. What a mess I’ve got myself into…
Anyway, keeping late nights aren’t good for health and definitely not good for the complexion. Just saw a picture of a barmaid, albeit a make-over picture…seriously old and haggled even though the subject was only in the early twenties when the picture was taken. Said subject was also seen as balding, with wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes, sunken and bloodshot eyes, a very prominent nasal labial fold, decaying yellow teeth and with very yellow complexion in other pictures.
Sometimes I really wonder about the ironies in life.
You know, corporate leaders don’t sleep a lot too. My guess is, the corporate leaders sleep even lesser hours than a barmaid BUT there is a remarkable difference in the presentation between the both.
Maybe it is a different set of worries that causes the difference in the outer appearance. You seldom find corporate leaders looking haggled, withered and yellow. They always look glowingly radiant although sometimes with dark eye circles and real messy hairdo.
And of course, the sky-high difference in earnings.
Life has never been fair.
And we aren’t talking about those born with a silver (or gold or diamond or platinum) spoon yet.
Each to his/her own. Everyone has a role to play. Just play it well.

Honestly, I didn’t finish reading everything Robert Greene even though I’ve got the entire collection. But he isn’t really relevant to this post entry.
I suspect I have the propensity to attract insanely creative people (sometimes famous, most times yet to be) because I am one eccentric mad hatter myself. That said, I just love people who are themselves. They are cool or not because they are who they are.
But recently, I realised that I am attracting all the ‘wrong’ people or attention. There are just so many vultures out there waiting to get to know so-and-so or wanting to be introduced to so-and-so… that my patience is wearing membrane thin.
It is NOT ok when you pretend to be all friendly and genuine when all you want is to data-mine my friends for your personal or career gains. You know, maybe one day I will start a blog and post up names and details. Well, you want to be known so I’ll give you a head-start.
Don’t say you’ve not been warned.

Finally recovered my writing bug with the incessant redrafting of the dissertation which is making no head no tail and no middle yet. That is a huge problem. But I’m sure it can be solved.
The World Expo at Shanghai is superb. Impressive is an understatement but the lack of manners of the Chinese left much to be desired. The black sheep are more than the white. ’nuff said on that.
I shall migrate the entries from this blog and add on some past entries which I’ve written on previous blogs onto a new blog address. This domain is going offline for the time being.
Life has been rather busy and sad lately, with funerals. The only good news is that one of my besties is getting married in July and everyone is excited over that. It’s gonna be a traditional church wedding!!! Lots of restrictions but it’s very special. Few people go for traditional church weddings now.
The grey clouds of the dissertation is hanging very much over me and sad to say, it does nothing to relieve the hot sunny weather these days. Business has been brisk… as brisk as it could be. I just hope that money will continuing to flow in and not flow out.
A revival in the interest of trading in some stuff and exporting them. But this will need time to develop.
Still campaigning for my own theme club. Lots of difficulties here because the property owner is in a tight fix himself (the Lehman shock). I will not give up.
The two casinos have been receiving a lot of flak. But the revenue is surging like no tomorrow. Greed is the terminator of the human race.
Getting closer and spending more time with my loved ones are the foremost of my priorities now. Yes, even the dissertation has taken a step back. What with all the recent funerals and sad stories all around, there has been a huge paradigm shift in priorities. Of course I am not giving up my studies but it just have to take a step back. Kudos to business too. It is frustrating how the modern civilisation is built on a foundation of dollars and cents such that one has to have a certain amount of financial freedom before one can start to enjoy time with loved ones without worrying about how to get the next meal onto the table. With proper planning, most people can at some point in time achieve this but how many people would bother to plan properly? A change in mindset is also required as we have all been socialised into placing material gains over other values.
Considering adopting a pup. I’d like a medium size mongrel (local bred). They are loyal and protective. A pedigree does not guarantee anything better except a higher cost. I think this apply to humans as well.
I think I’ve pretty much ‘grown’ up in the past few months especially within these 2.5 months. It is another turning point in my life. But like most times, I resist changes like this because a big part of me doesn’t want to grow up at all.
June is approaching. Half a year is soon gone. What have you achieved so far?

yeahz…redraft will be done this Wednesday and then emailed to Prof for checkings…followings will be the amendments and re-amendments etc.
I’d wish I could live permanently in a clubhouse but there really is no place like home.
I miss you so…
And now to more important topics: MONEY!

Besides the fact that I’ve just moved into Club Intercontinental and am supposed to be completing my dissertation within the next few days without the bill running into a five figure, today is also April Fool’s Day which is also Da Gor’s death date…AND, the date I registered my new company.
I did part of my promise. I have started and the journey begins now.
Given me the choice, I would beat Guardian hands down. But SG market too small for the war. Too bad. Go Watsons Go!

Someone ought to do a research project on how genes (as opposed to genres – which is my project!) affect behaviour.
Some people just like being Number 1. No matter for the wrong or right reasons. For good or evil. For better or worse. For life or death. Haha.
Have you read Forbes yet? Well…nothing new.
It does run in the blood to want to do well. I suppose. I want to do as well as I can for my research. But looking at it, there isn’t gonna be a breakthrough…as in THE breakthrough. I thought I saw that glimmer of light. It might be there but there is not now.
And regarding the Jack Neo (Singapore) scandal. Well, definitely worse than brother Edison I would say. JN’s an abuse of (not just of the trust his family had in him) authority and position. It should be a criminal offence.

Actually things are far from being well…or depending on how you’d look at it.
Like I said, reality and illusion are the same. It’s a matter of perspective.
Anyway.
Everyone is quite sure the colourful old man is not about to make it past the year of the tiger…which leaves him with just about eleven months plus. =X He knows it as well but as usual thinks he’ll make a fool of God.
Anyway.
The point is, my future came up as THE topic. Seemingly, pursuing a life in academia isn’t considered a career and suddenly everyone is worried about my living. Not as in existence (given that many has chosen to deny me of that). I don’t care. But as the only grandchild linking these two old men, the tabloids are sure happy to dig any information which most unfortunately for them…ZERO!
Anyway.
My future. Many are worried for the wrong reasons because they are afraid they’d fare worse than me which is an impossibility in their deadly illusion-ed world. Both old men are worried because they say I’ve got no directions in life.
Anyway.
Not just the two of them.
Recently, many people have been singing the same tune.
Myself…suspects it as well.
BUT, just let me complete the dissertation in peace, set up my own biz, get it running and continue on my pathetic attempts at publishing.
You know, if I were to die now…I have no regrets. Utterly. Truthfully.
I love everyone I love. And I love him most. I’ve told everyone I love, I love you.
No regrets.

The last trip back to Macau, we went by chartered jet instead of the commercial because it was too late to get tickets and it’d be foolish to pay for first class. Not sure why but Jetquay along with most of the private jets had shifted to the CIP terminal which is together with the rest of the terminals instead of being at the old Seletar Airport. And getting to the CIP was a journey itself, the terminal being so tucked away in the middle of nowhere.
The service provided by the ground staff was excellent as usual, as were the f&b. I stuffed myself silly with all the sugar cookies again and, for the umpteen time, attempted understand why they always serve cheap instant noodles.
It is always good to fly private/chartered because no one (absolutely NO ONE) will bother you with all the standard ‘airline’ advisories. And the f&b is always so much better. But for one thing…smoking is allowed and I’m a non-smoker!

Lots more photos but I can’t post them up here. It’s all on Facebook.
We had lots of fun selecting tidbits and fresh fruits before getting the fluffy pillows, blankets and warm slippers. And then while some folks slept, I was happily surfing the net.
